LaunchPad shortlisted for regional award

LaunchPad opened in September 2019 and is a mixed community housing scheme set up for University of Bristol students, young people at risk of homelessness and Key Workers. This is student housing with a difference, bringing young people together to build communities and futures. SU Lettings worked in partnership with the University, 1625ip and United Communities on the project. In December 2019 the property was shortlisted for Small Residential Development of the Year at the first insider South West Residential Property Awards 2020.

Welcoming new reps for International Students, Care Leavers & Estranged Students and more

We welcomed our first International Students Full Time Officer this year, who has represented and strengthened our community of international students.

Three new Networks came into action this year: the Multifaith Network, the Care Leavers & Estranged Students Network, and the Mature Students, Parents & Carers Network, who are all already hard at work supporting their students.

There are almost 3500 current SU members who are students of faith, but atheist and agnostic students are welcome to join the Multifaith Network too!

Over 2600 SU members have also told us that they identify as a Mature Student, Parent, Carer, Care Leaver, or Estranged student, so our new Networks stand to benefit a whole range of students!
